20 Years of Mimaki Europe
Mimaki Engineering was founded in Japan in 1975 and became a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and high-precision cutting plotters. Over time, Mimaki has grown by reputation and influence into a global company.
As a fully owned subsidiary of Mimaki Engineering Co. Ltd., Mimaki Europe’s establishment in 2004 has enabled the brand to become a leading provider of products and services in the EMEA region. Based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Mimaki Europe serves as the European Headquarters and is responsible for overseeing sales, marketing, field service and other operations.
In addition, Mimaki Europe holds seven key locations throughout the EMEA region, dedicated to providing premium service and support via a highly established distributor and reseller network. Mimaki Europe works hard to ensure a thorough understanding of customer needs and requirements. As a result, it can recommend the best possible configurations to help grow local business.

Printers for on-demand production: At Mimaki, we develop, manufacture and distribute a full range of industrial inkjet machines, including roll-to-roll, medium to large flatbeds and 3D printers. Since our digital inkjet printing systems do not require printing plates, small runs are fast, easy, and economical. Thanks to Mimaki’s leading-edge technology, our on-demand production solutions equip end users with the added flexibility, versatility and breathtaking print quality coupled with world-beating performance and productivity.
Cutting plotters: Mimaki set the benchmark for cutting solutions in 1987 by introducing the first plotter in the world to use the drag knife. This technology introduced a shift from simple signboards with hand-painted lettering to vibrant signs with eye-catching photographs and illustrations. Well received in the market, our innovative cutter was the basis for continued innovation as seen in our range of roll-to-roll and flatbed cutting plotters. Today, Mimaki cutting solutions are found in sign & display, textile & apparel, and industrial businesses around the globe.
Inks: An ever-growing offering of inks are being developed to meet printing demands, like eco-solvent, UV-curable, sublimation and inks suitable for direct-to-fabric printing. In addition, we develop a wide variety of solvent, pigment and water-based inks for quality, high-definition colour on most materials. Mimaki inks resist, even when exposed to direct sunlight, and are water and abrasion resistant. With inks and printers working harmoniously together, our tightly integrated systems deliver outstanding prints.
Software: And last but not least, our range of included software, such as software RIP’s, colour management tools, stand-alone cut applications and cut plug-in software are made compatible with popular design applications.
