Answer: Please check the following contents.
Issue examples:
① There is ink mist on printed samples and attached to the inner printer cover.
② No nozzles out on the Test Print, however it starts having nozzles out after normal printing.
③ he White color density is reduced compared to the previous print results.
【Recovery Procedure】
1. Operate a Normal cleaning.
2. Operate a Hard cleaning.
3. Set up the “Waiting Refresh level” to “2” or “3”.
[SETUP]-[SELECT]-[TYPE1]-[REFLESH]-[WAITING]-[LEVEL 0~3].
4. Set up the “Drawing Refresh level” to “2” or “3”.
[SETUP]-[SELECT]-[TYPE1]-[REFLESH]-[DRAWING]-[LEVEL 0~3].
5. Verify the printer environments (Temperature, Humidity, and Dust) are within the specifications.
Specification of the Printer environment:
Available temperature: [15~30℃ (59~86F)]
Guaranteed temperature: [18~25℃ (64.4~77F)]
Temperature change: [±10℃ or less]
Dust: [Equivalent to normal office level: Floating dust amount is less than 0.15mg/㎥]
Humidity: [35~65%Rh (No condensation)]
・ These issues can happen especially if the temperature is lower than the specification, because of the viscosity increases.
・ If the room has a high amount of dust, the dust attaches to the print head surface. This will cause “Ink mist” or “Nozzles out” issues.
6. Verify the ink storage temperature is within the Ink specification.
Ink specification:
Storage temperature: [15~30℃ (59~86F)]
Shipping temperature: [0~60℃ (32~140F)]
・The ink will be frozen if it is stored under -4℃ (24.8F).
If ink cartridge is stored under -4℃ (24.8F) the ink will be frozen.
If the ink freezes, leave the frozen ink cartridge for over 3 hours to thaw at normal storage temperature. [15~30℃ (59~86F)].
7. [Important] Daily Maintenance is necessary.
Refer to the “Daily Care Manual”
Clean around the wiper, flushing box, and print head surface. Refer to the “Daily care manual ” or “Operation Manual ” for details.
Clean the ionizer needle. Refer to the “Operation Manual ”.
The ionizer reduces the static electricity, however if the ionizer needle is dirty, it cannot effectively reduce static.
8. [Important] White Maintenance
hite ink precipitates easily compared to the other colors. If it precipitates inside the ink line, you will see the following issues.
a. Nozzles out on the Test pattern
b. No nozzles out on the test pattern but start having nozzle out issue after start normal print.
c. Nozzle deflection
d. White ink mist
e. White ink density is lighter if it is compared to previous print result.
Once it is precipitated inside ink line, printer needs to be fixed by technician.
① Once a week, operate a White Maintenance
Refer to the “Operation manual ”(Regular Maintenance of White ink)
② Before starting your job, remove the white cartridges from printer, shake them well, and reinsert it. Then perform a Normal cleaning.
[How to shake]
Wear gloves and apply cloth to the insertion side as shown below pictures to avoid getting ink on your hands. Tilt the cartridge gently from side to side more than 20 times, so ink inside can be circulated. If a cartridge is roughly tilted, the foil pack inside may be damaged. This may cause an ink leak. Please tilt the cartridge gently. When the level of ink remaining is low, tilt the cartridge vertically, otherwise ink can not be fully circulated.
9. Make sure media feeding amount is correct.
10. Set up the “Head gap value” with the following steps.
* “Head gap” means the distance between the highest point of print surface and the inkjet print head surface. If the value is smaller, inkjet head can fire ink more straightly.
Set the head gap value to 1.5mm
This is the procedure to set up the head gap value. However sometimes the actual head gap is higher than the head gap you set. See the below examples for details.
Caution 1)
If the print material has convex-concave print surface, the head gap between the convex-part (Highest) and head will be the set value. However the actual gap between the concave-part and head will be the “Set value” + the “Height difference between the convex-concave”
The height difference between the Convex-Concave (Highest – Lowest) has to be
less than 2.0mm or less.
※Refer to “Precaution when printing in head gap more than 2.0mm ”
If the height difference is more than 2.0mm, you may have the nozzle clogging issue.
If the table surface is uncovered, please cover the table surface with sheets to prevent the UV reflection from the table surface.
Caution2)
If you start the “Gap Check” function with the following conditions, the “actual head gap” will be larger than the head gap you set. Therefore verify you cleared all following things before start doing the “Gap Check”.
A. “Material not bent and it is flat”
B. “The jig is not bent and it is flat“
C. “No loose tape or dust on the material or jig surface”
D. ”Material is not popped out from the jig”
E. ”No height difference between materials”
If height difference is large, you may have ink mist issue on the lower height material surface.
